In
April 2004 East Coast Fresh Cuts moved into our new, 165,000
square foot, state-of-the-art facility at 8704 Bollman
Place, Savage Maryland. The plant
utilizes the finest processing equipment available including;
cutting devices from Urschel, water monitoring systems
from Strantrol, metal detection devices from Eriez Magnetics,
conveyors and flood washers from A.K. Robins, waste removal
from Reyco Industries, and sealing and packaging equipment
from C.V.P. company.
Our
facility is under strict cold chain management from raw
product receiving to finished product shipping. East Coast
Fresh Cuts has over 120 tons of low velocity cooling which
allows us to maintain all receiving, processing, and storage
areas at a target temperature of 38F.
We maintain
and staff our own in-house microbiological testing lab. This
gives us the capabilities to screen raw product, finished
product, and production surfaces for pathogens such as E.Coli,
Listeria, Staph Aureus and many others.
Our production
floor surface is a combination non-skid and epoxy resin material,
which combines to make a safe operating surface that is impervious
to microbial penetration.
All receiving,
processing, and shipping areas are basked in high lumens
vapor lights which assists in visual sorting of undesirable
raw and finished products.
All wash
water is computer balanced and monitored to maximize the
effectiveness of our fresh produce washing system. |
