How
we started:
East Coast Fresh Cuts started as a local supplier of fresh-cut
fruits and vegetables to the Baltimore-Washington D.C. market
back in 1990. The company originally shared a stall on the
Maryland Wholesale Produce Market in Jessup, Maryland, with
another produce distributor. Our first venture into the fresh-cut
arena started with approximately seven employees who sliced
and bagged onions as an added convenience to their customers.
As
business began to grow, a vision began to take shape. That
vision included a large, technologically advanced regional
fresh-cut processor located directly in the market it services.
In 1997
East Coast Fresh Cuts moved into their new facility located
at 7715 Assateague Drive in Jessup, Maryland. Within a year,
our staff grew to approximately 120 people employed in areas
such as management, production, sales and shipping. Our customer
base grew as well, and started to include many different segments
of the foodservice industry.
In 1999,
East Coast Fresh Cuts became an accepted member of the United
States Department of Agriculture's "Qualified Through Verification"
program. This program is another example of our commitment
to excellence. We will continue to "raise the bar" in our
efforts to be a proactive leader and supplier of the finest
fresh-cut fruits and vegetables available anywhere.
In April
2004 East Coast Fresh Cuts moved into our new, 165,000 square
foot, state-of-the-art facility at 8704 Bollman Place, Savage
Maryland. GET DIRECTIONS |
